En 1766, un arboretum d'arbres exotiques fut aménagé sur ce site. En 1767, une boite de graines arriva d'Amérique du Nord. Les imposants pins de Weymouth de l'arboretum proviennent de ces semences et comptent parmi les plus anciens de leur espèce en Allemagne

1766 wurde an dieser Stelle eine Forstplantage mit fremdländlichen Gehölzen angelegt. 1767 kam aus Nordamerika eine Samenkiste. Die mächtigen Weymouthskiefern des Arboretums stammen aus diesen Provenienzen und gehören zu den ältesten ihrer Art in Deutschland

In 1766, a forest plantation with exotic trees was established on this site. In 1767, a seed box arrived from North America. The arboretum's mighty Weymouth pines originate from these provenances and are among the oldest of their kind in Germany
